Nathan began his career in the construction industry at the age of 17 when he commenced his apprenticeship with a local builder in his home town of Yarram.

Eventually he decided to branch out and started his own business, N Baxter's Building, as a carpenter. However, there are limits on the types of jobs that a carpenter is permitted to carry out. Nathan wanted to be able to take his work beyond these limits and so he studied for and successfully obtained his unlimited domestic building licence.

Shortly after, Nathan rebranded his business as Baxter Construction Licensed Builder to reflect the change in his scope of works. Nathan teamed up with his brother and (then) apprentice, Reece, making them a genuine family business. Reece has now completed his apprenticeship and is a qualified carpenter.

Nathan is proud to use local suppliers and trades in the South Gippsland area whom he has built a strong relationship with over the duration of his career.
